Haring and Vojtášová take their wins in Bratislava-Petržalka

The 11th Slovak BCF National Cyclocross Cup continued in Bratislava-Petržalka on the 1 December. Our team was represented by 6 riders, including the leaders of the general classification, Martin Haring and Zuzana Vojtášová.

All CT BB riders were aiming for good placings, some even for victories. Martin Haring rode faultlessly today and won today’s race with a big prevalance over his rivals, really a performance worth his place in the National Team. His impressions of the race: “We formed a strong break-away consisting of 4 riders right from the start. There was me, Š.Gajdošík, O.Glajza and M.Barényi. I tried to change the speed very often so as to tire my rivals and also to get a big time advantage to all other riders. Gajdošík was the first one to be dropped due to a mechanical problem and I god rid of Glajza and Barenyi due to their technical problems and faults on the track later on. Ondrej Glajza Jr. really was a strong competitor today. We raced together during almost the whole race, I’m sorry he fell in the end, it would be interesting to go to finish wheel to wheel.“

Róbert Glajza also prooved he’s in good shape, dominated especially in the technical parts of the race and finished 6th. Martin Fraňo was riding well today and throughout the whole race was fighting over a 15th place with Czech Zdeňek Mlynář, but lost this battle by few seconds. Miroslav Debnár was prevented from any good result by a pointless crash in the very beginning of the race caused by riders in front of him. By the time he repaired his handlebars and some other minor mechanical defects on the bike, all riders were gone. Miro is a warrior though, so he moved slowly up the peloton until crossing the finish line. He finished 23rd.

Zuzana Vojtášová rode well today within the Cadets cathegory. She was riding in 3th position right from the start and finished 9th. She prevailed over her rivals Kristína Lapinová finishing 2nd and her team-mate Lívia Hanesová who completing the podium.

“I was definitelly not happy with my performance today. The only part of the race I can be happy about was my quick start what proved to be quite advantageous due to a technical section that followed shortly after. But what I lacked completely today was a higher power output. As we reset our time to the winter one couple weeks ago in Slovakia, I lack the extra hour and have no time to train during the week in the daylight anymore. But since I do want to compete well and fight for the victory at the National Champs in 2 weeks, I think the only way to get back into shape is to train in the city even in the evening, with the lights on. My victory today was not that sure actually due to a flat tyre I got in my last lap, but I managed to get to pit, change my bike and still keep my 1st place by few seconds. I did like the circuit though, it was nice and varied.”
