Estim and Performance Nutrition - nutrition supplements of the team for 2013
CK BB has a new partner for nutrition products in 2013 – a rather young Slovak company representing Estim sports drinks from Czech republic and Performance Nutrition supplements from Belgium.
Products portfolio is not very wide yet, designed especially for specific needs of endurance sportsmen and racers in all sports. Portfolio will be broadened each year based on the needs and requests of their customers.
The clue supplement for each and every sportsman is definitelly sports drink. Estim comes with five flavors of hypotonic drink Aktiv+ replenishing the loss of water, carbohydrates and electrolytes during endurance activities. A powder Iont+ is a faster way of replenishment of vitamin and mineral loss, intended mostly for hot summer months, when perspiration is more intensive and body is prone to getting cramps.
Zuzana Vojtášová is not a big fan of sports drinks because of their mostly non-natural taste, here’s what she said about Activ+: „I was surprised by the light, neither very sweet, nor intensive taste of the sports drink during a mountainbike race in the Banská Bystrica where I came accross this trade mark for the first time. Our cooperation with Estim actually started based on this good experience I had.“
Cyclists most often use branched chain amino acids (BCAA’s) as a prevention of catabolic conditions in muscle tissues during and after hard work-out. With Estim, you can either decide for the pure BCAA in pills or for a recovery drink Reg+. The later one actually has higher doses of BCAA per serving than the renowned trade marks in our market and contain chondroitine and glucosamine sulphates as a bonus for better joint nutrition. Current National Champion of Slovakia in MTB marathons, Martin Haring uses Reg+ also „as meal replacement after a hard work-out so as to supress the catabolic effects of training. It helps to replenish the right amount of carbohydrates and glycogene level in my body. I am especially satisfied for the easy digestion, as I sometimes have stomach problems after drinking recovery drinks. A good taste and a quickly dissolving formula is a bonus.“
Another form of protein supplement is a powder protein drink with high amounts of BCAA, PureWhey. „A real treat in various flavors,“ says Miro Debnár.
L-Carnitine is also a very important amino acid necessary for an increased performance and reduced muscle glycogen usage, available in liquid form in 25ml ampulla or a 500ml bottle.
During a workout, especially the endurance one, it is essential to replenish energy also in form of food, drinks are not sufficient. One can either go for sports bars ProSnax offering optimal ratio of carbohydrates and proteins or for a quick release energy in form of Performance Energel+ sport gels. Also a similar product to the gels, a liquid form of high energy concentrate Performance Energizer+ is available in coke flavor. Lukáš Bátora tried the Performance gels for the first time in races in Ukraine couple days ago. He was very pleased „with the unusual water-melon flavor - something different and good tasting. Really tasty high energy food.“ Both Lukáš and Miro appreciate the „practical re-sealable packing. It slips easily into the shirt pocket and the amount of gel is just about right.“
Portfolio of any nutrition products necessary for a race would not be complete without re-mineralisation formulas, calcium/magnezium pills Cal/Mag. These electrolytes work in synergy, therefore need to be consumed together in the right ratio so as to prevent muscle cramps during a hard, long workout. A pure Magnesium in liquid 25ml ampullas can serve as a first aid when cramps occure though.
All cyclists will be able to try sports drink Aktiv+ during a road marathon Tour de Volcano on June 30 2013 in Banská Bystrica organized by CK BB. Estim will sponsor the sports drinks all throughout the race. A sales stand with Estim and Performance Nutrition products will also be in the race office, all Estim products will be available with a 10% “Tour de Volcano“ discount.
Trademarks Estim and Performance Nutrition have been on our market since 2011. Company focuses mostly on endurance sports because of the sports background of the owners – Martin and Lukáš, both former runners. Martin talks about his decision to enter the cycling market and into CK BB: „This year we would like to penetrate into other sports as well. Cycling was only a logical step due to its endurance and high intensity features, our products portfolio is suited perfectly for this type of activity and our products are widely used by Belgian cyclists. We chose one of the best cycling teams in Slovakia, CK BB as it is a well established ‘brand’. We see big chances of promoting our products via the team and also like to do a good thing, to support the team in the same time.
