Dávid Zverko winner of the 12. round of the Regional Cycling Cup
The 12th round of RCP took place in Badín, 4.9.2012.
As usually, the race consisted of 8 laps plus there was a sprinters competition at each crossing of the finish line with the first 4 riders being attributed 5,3, 2 and 1 points respectively. Many riders were absent this time – Marek Čanecký was getting ready for Tour de China, Martin Fraňo was in a training camp inthe Pakistani Himalayas at that time and Martin Haring absented due to his participance in the World Championship in Cross-Country.
Throughout the race a group of 7 riders, including the later winner Zverko and other candidates for podium Miroslav Debnár and Dominik Špilák was formed andpretty soon had a good lead to the rest of the peloton. The 3 mentioned riders tore the leading group in the finish climb apart and crossed the finish line inan order given above. Time of the winner 57:16 min. and David also easily took all first places in the Sprinters’ competition.Ladislav Longauer finished 15th with a time 1:01:21, Lívia Hanesová 20th 1:05:25. The last, 13. round of the year-long competition will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2012 at 16:45 – a time trial at Šturec with a start in Dolný Harmanec.
