Awards ceremony of the 22nd edition of Regional Cycling Cup

The awards ceremony of the Regional Cycling Cup took place in restaurant Reška premises.

Cyclists from the whole Banská Bystrica region who participated in the yearlong competition met already for the 22^nd time to applaud the winner of the series. Ladislav Longauer, general manager of the competition, evaluated this year’s edition and expressed a wish for meeting everyone again next summer in the Regional Cycling Cup 2013. The year-long competition serves as a perfect preparation for more important races.

Martin Haring (CT BB) took this year’s overall victory, followed by his team-mate Miroslav Debnár and 3rd Rudolf Rusina. Haring only confirmed his dominance from previous years as he won this competition for a 4th consecutive time. He dominated mostly in races that suit best his climbing skills.

Throughout the whole year, 82 riders took part in the competition with the average attendance to a race being 31 riders.

The Awards Ceremony was completed by a projection of race pictures taken throughout the year, later followed by a projection and a short update on Merida bikes. Various topics on the possible changes to the Regional cycling cup were also raised during the discussion panel that followed later on.

Refreshments during the whole evening were sponsored by Franko pizza – the best pizza in town, tasty Christmast cabbage soup sponsored by Reška and a delicious strudel was supplied by the courteous photograph of the competition, Adriana Korýtková-Vajsová.

We would like to thank everyone for taking part in the competition this year and are looking forward to meeting everyone again during the traditional training every other Tuesday April-September 2013.
