A bottle of original Caribbean rum at stake - take your chance to win by guessing a stage result of CK BB riders
Everyone’s attention is surelyy drawn by Tour de France these days. However, there is a different cycling tour on the French soil organized at the same time.
The Tour the Martinique consisting of 11 stages in 9 days. The tour starts July 6th and ends July 14th.
The CK BB squad will set off for the route already this Wednesday, July 3. The following cyclists: Bátora, Fraňo, Debnár, Palčák and Glajza are accompanied by our two women, Vojtášová and Hanesová. The journey itself is a rather long one, leading through Paris to the Caribbean. We have already participated more times in the Tour de Guadeloupe, which is the neighbouring island, but it is our first visit to Martinique. We are happy to be part of the 32nd edition of the Tour.
Some 114 riders shall be present at the start, including rivals from France, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, French Guyane and Guadeloupe. We will be bringing you updates from the race as well as from the tour’s backstage. Everyone is also welcome to follow the official website of Federation of Cycling in Martinique by downloading a free live I phone and Android application. These iCRMO Live Tour de Martinique apps are free of charge and are also available in Android Market. These applications bring live coverage of the Tour, the intermediate results, rankings and news directly to your cell phone. Finish of each stage is planned around 7pm CET – thus in a convenient time for our supporters back home to listen to live radio or TV broadcast via RFO. Daily stage analysis is on programme of the day everyday at 8pm CET. Cycling fans are welcome to switch from Tour de France directly to Tour de Martinique coverage.
“Tour the Martinique is a new experience for our team. We have participated already five times in the nearby Tour the Guadeloupe and six times in Tour the French Guyane. Therefore we are well aware of the environment, the countryside and we also know our competitors in the race. The atmosphere in these races is really incomparable to any other races I know – except for Tour de France and Giro d’Italia of course, the atmosphere and the number of supporters and fans of the tour is really something exceptional. These countries and their inhabitants really live the Tour, the whole isle follows the whole race, supports all the riders and helps them conquer the tour. It’s one of the biggest happenings in a year in these countries, so everyone enjoys it to the fullest. We usually have slight acclimatization problems throughout the first stages and tend to obtain better results in the second half of the race. Barényi already managed to win a stage in Tour de Guyane. Glajza as well reached the podium and Fraňo and Palčák were not too far from it either in Guadeloupe. It’s difficult to guess our overall result, but we will try to make a good result in some of the stages,” shared Martin Fraňo his expectations of the upcoming Tour.

The task is to come up with the best guess, the closest one, of the sum of the stage placings of three best CK BB riders in the last stage of the Tour. Example: first three CK BB riders at the finish of the last Tour the Martinique stage will arrive in 12., 21. and 35. position, the sum is 12+21+35=68. Only bets placed via a comment on the CK BB facebook appeal published July 3 and made by CK BB facebook friends will be accepted in the contest. Only one bet per person is allowed.
